Abstract
A new subspecies of the charaxine butterfly Prepona praeneste Hewitson is herein described. The butterflies were collected in three Andean localities in the bounding - whit - Colombia state Tachira in southwestern Venezuela. Diagnosis of the new Taxa and brief comments on behavior is also presented.
