Abstract

The concept Constitutional supremacy is today the essential element of contemporary constitutionalism, which is the result of significant developments over time and has been reinforced in many countries with the creation of constitutional judicial review. However, this notion has variable contents depending on each tradition and each legal system, as it is not a solved issue. An analysis from the comparative law allows to cover the constitutional supremacy from diverse perspectives and study its different elements
to give a more accurate contour to it. Specifically, this article makes a jurisprudential analysis to establish the characteristics of this concept in different legal systems and show its importance today.
